About Us
The Art of Preserving Traditions
Sol Preserves is a young company reviving an old art.
Like so many great companies, it started originally as just something I loved to do - spending a day with my mom producing natural, quality preserves. We used produce such as raspberries, tomatoes and rhubarb that were readily available in my backyard and hers.
Through 14 years of creating an ever expanding variety of delicious products, we found that our preserves were in high demand and our market was expanding. With encouragement from friends and families, we began exploring new ways to serve traditional preserves. It was important to us that the preserves were used, so we added serving suggestions and started to recommend food pairings for complementary tastes.
We are always trying new recipes, and listening to the feedback of our customers, and we try to give ideas for using the preserves in exciting ways to spice up everyday meals.
Our Parent Company
Pivotal Concepts Inc., the parent company of Sol Preserves, was formed in July 2007.
In November 2007 Sol Preserves was launched, offering a wide variety of natural, tantalizing preserves, still primarily using local produce that was available from my yard and Mom’s.
Harvesting Locally Grown, Chemical Free Produce
Today the concept of using what is locally available has not changed. We now have a growing list of (pesticide/chemical free) backyards where we harvest local produce.
Through the “Free Your Fruit” program, we are able to harvest produce that would otherwise go to waste and transform it into delicious, natural Sol Preserves products.
If you are interested in a consultation and having your otherwise wasted produce harvested, please contact us.
Keeping the Tradition Alive
With the increased cost of imported foods there is a growing interest in locally grown and sourced products. The art of preserving using readily available local produce supports this trend.
In 2009, we are offering a number of workshops, or gatherings, introducing the age old art of preserving.
